| Governing Bodies |
The Association is under the management of an Executive Committee (Exco) elected by the Members at an Annual General Meeting for a period of one year.
Sub-Committees may be formed for the purposes of pursuing any objects of the Association at the discretion of the ExCo. The Chairpersons of such Sub-Committees are also appointed by the ExCo.
In addition, Groups may be formed with the consent of the Exco to carry on and engage in activities within the objects and purposes of the Association. Such Groups shall elect a leader from their midst who shall be responsible for the conduct of the groups and their affairs, whose election shall be confirmed by the Exco, and shall represent the Group in the Exco. Current Groups comprise Ladies and Youth.
Because of the numerous and diverse nature of facilities, activities, events and services provided by the Association, various Association members and employees have been assigned as the resource persons to contact for information and/or assistance.
In addition, the Association has a Council of Elders (Council) which acts as an advisory and supervisory body to the ExCo to ensure the proper administration of the Association. Ordinary Members who met specific requirements are eligible to be Members of the Council upon nomination by the ExCo or the Council and confirmation at an Annual General Meeting.
Two Trustees are elected triennially from the Council of Elders by members of the same Council. The Trustees are the custodian of the title deeds of property, contracts, common seal and other sealed documents of the Association. They are also empowered to use the common seal of the Association jointly with the Secretary.
The objects, powers, conduct, meetings, administration and day-to-day running of the Association are governed by the Constitution and Rules of The Chung Wah Association Incorporated. |
