Chung Wah Association
Centenary Celebration Souvenir Publication
(1910 - 2010)

As the oldest ethnic association in Western Australia, the Chung Wah Association is the only one to have celebrated a century of history.

Our Souvenir Centenary publication highlights 100 years of the sweat and tears of our pioneers, as well as the development and growth of the Chung Wah Association over the past 10 decades.

The publication is of immense heritage value to the Western Australian history, serving as a testament to the myriad contributions of ethnic Chinese people in Western Australia over all these years.

Feel the plight and desperation of our forefathers, their resilience and success in Western Australia. Read all about the formation the Chung Wah Association and follow the tortuous historic path under the White Australian Policy to the present day.

Gain better insight into the association’s structure and the functions of its various groups. Understand the range of activities the association organises.

We trust that you will enjoy the interesting, thought-provoking and poignant articles that illustrate the indelible Chinese flavour that invariably form part of the multi-cultural life in Western Australia today.

We hope the Centenary publication will be of great use to the Association, not just as a captured piece of history for its many members, but as an introduction to entities that are interested in the Chung Wah Association in their future encounters.

Happy Reading!
