The “2026 Perth Chinese New Year Fair,” successfully hosted by the Chung Wah Association on February 22, 2026, has come to a successful conclusion. This marked the fourteenth annual Chinese New Year celebration organized by the Chung Wah Association, an organization with a proud 117-year history.

This year’s cultural festival achieved remarkable results in terms of participation by residents and tourists, as well as in the number of booths and other related aspects. While preserving the finest traditions of Chinese culture, the program also embraced innovation and multicultural elements. With a rich and diverse lineup of performances and activities, the Fair vividly showcased the unique charm and contemporary vitality of Chinese culture, becoming one of Perth’s major annual cultural highlights.

On the day of the event, representatives from the Western Australian State Government, the Australian Federal Government, and various local governments attended, along with consular representatives in Perth from China, Malaysia, Indonesia, and other countries. Leaders of Chinese community organizations and distinguished guests from all sectors also gathered to celebrate the occasion. The atmosphere was warm and ceremonial, fully reflecting the strong support and recognition from all sectors of society for Chinese culture and the values of multicultural inclusion.

The success of this event would not have been possible without the generous support and selfless contributions of many. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to:
- Members of the Organizing Committee, colleagues across all departments, office staff, and all volunteers for their hard work and professionalism;
- The City of Perth, the Western Australian Office of Multicultural Interests, and Lotterywest for their consistent support and sponsorship;
- All sponsors, exhibitors, parade participants, and performance groups for their active involvement;
- Community leaders and associations, media organizations, photography and videography teams, and all suppliers for their professional assistance.
It is through the trust, support, and close collaboration of all sectors that the Chung Wah Association was a ble to deliver a high-caliber, high-quality multicultural celebration to the people of Perth.

On behalf of the Chung Wah Association, I extend my highest respect and heartfelt thanks to all honored guests, supporting organizations, and individuals. Looking ahead, the Association will continue to uphold its mission of preserving Chinese culture and promoting multicultural integration, deepen community partnerships, enhance cultural exchange, and contribute even more vibrant cultural events to Western Australian society.
With sincere appreciation.
