On 5 August 2023, members of the Chinese Community gathered to hear the WA Premier, Hon. Roger Cook MLA announced the transfer of land in Bentley to the Chung Wah Association to build a new Community Centre. The land is situated at the corner of Hedley Street and Nyamup Way, Bentley and is 7,000m2 in size. As the oldest community cultural association in Western Australia, the Chung Wah Association was gifted the land to continue the good work they have done in serving the community for the past 114 years.

The future Community Centre will be used for community functions, aged care respite services and be a regular meeting place for cultural activities for the community. It is envisioned that this community centre will be the home for Chinese people South of the river and be open for other communities to use as well. The construction project will be managed by Encon Project Management. The construction is estimated to start in the early of 2024 with completion by the early of 2025.
